Hello and welcome to the first Blog of 2020. I hope you're all embracing the new year with a positive outlook and have made it through dry January if you were brave enough to take up the challenge.
Its now three years since I opened the studio and the workshops are going from strength to strength. I'm getting visitors from all over the country coming here for the weekends and broke the record this month with Ingrid travelling all the way from Dundee. ( Ingrid I will post your scarf) . Tewkesbury is a beautiful historic town nestling on the banks of the rivers Avon and Severn so if you have a partner or spouse who doesnt fancy getting arty there are plenty of lovely walks and interesting places for them to explore while you paint with me.
My new workshop "Through the Birch Forest " was a roaring success, as you can see from the picture above everyone produced incredible work with some students not having picked up a paint brush since art classes at school. Theres been a lot of interest in more dates for this and these are now on the website and open for booking.
I'm also pleased to announce I have guest artist Mike Skidmore coming to run an oil painting workshop in April. He will be teaching portrait painting over 2 days. Mike came to the studio to meet me and I have to say I was impressed not only by his painting skills but also his warm personality. I'm confident he will fit in well here.
I've had quite a few requests for midweek workshops so I have programmed some in for you and I've also put on a cold wax refresher course for those of you who have already done the introduction to cold wax and oils. There are more dates for the old favourites like expressive landscape, intuitive art and wild flower meadow and I have re-introduced the mixed media and gel press printing workshop which is full of techniques, mediums and tools and you dont have to be able to draw or paint at all for this one
Do check out the website and get in touch if you have any questions.I hope to see you for some creative indulgence soon
Much love
Jane
