 Jane Clatworthy is a highly regarded British contemporary abstract painter who is currently based in the picturesque region of Gloucestershire. Jane's artistic journey is deeply rooted in her upbringing within a creative family, which has significantly influenced her work. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in fine art (sculpture) from Cheltenham Art School, where she honed her skills and developed a strong interest art history. Over time, Jane discovered a profound passion for painting, which has since become the primary focus of her artistic expression.

Her remarkable artwork has gained considerable recognition not only in the UK but also on an international scale, thanks to her representation by  the esteemed Carina Haslam gallery who showcases at international art fairs.

Little Buckland gallery and  the Bowie Gallery  have also  played a pivotal role in introducing her work to a broader audience and continue to represent Jane  today

Jane is celebrated for her exceptional talent as a colorist, and her paintings are characterized by dynamic mark-making that brings a sense of energy and movement to her work. She often immerses herself in the creative process, resulting in abstract compositions that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Utilizing oil, and cold wax as here chosen medium, Jane creates her artworks on sturdy cradled panels, allowing her physical engagement with the materials to be an intrinsic part of the painting process. Each piece reflects her dedication to her craft and her unique artistic vision, inviting viewers to explore the depth and complexity of her creations.
